Job Title: Transportation Planner

Join the Santa Clara Pueblo Administrative team as a Transportation Planner, responsible for planning and coordinating transportation projects and activities within the community and beyond.

Job Summary:

The Transportation Planner will serve as the primary point of contact for transportation planning activities, working closely with the Tribal Transportation Program Director and other stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of transportation projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the Santa Clara Pueblo Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) and road inventory, with periodic updates using the BIA RIFDIS system.
  • Plan and develop the Santa Clara Pueblo Transportation Improvement Plan, working directly with the FHWA and related agencies to secure funding.
  • Develop and implement a Safety Plan, working with SCP departments, the community, and other organizations to ensure safe transportation practices.
  • Coordinate with local, regional planning organizations to plan and implement SCP transportation projects and activities.
  • Develop and maintain accurate program and financial management records, including tracking and maintaining accounting forms for records of program income and expenses.
  • Prepare and submit monthly reports on the progress and issues of current and proposed transportation planning projects to the TTP Director.
Requirements:
  • 2-year planning degree or at least 5 years of comparable knowledge in Transportation Planning field.
  • At least 5 years of work experience in transportation planning.
  • New Mexico Driver's License and be insurable.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of transportation planning and construction program requirements.
  • Working knowledge of Santa Clara Pueblo's program and procurement guidelines, management, including administrative, finance, budgeting, personnel, procurement, contractual procedures, and safety.
  • Excellent computer software and hardware skills, with knowledge of accounting software and forms, Excel, and other office software.
