Job Summary

As a Social Worker Lead at Tucson Medical Center, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee patients and staff, ensuring that they receive the best possible care and services. You will be responsible for scheduling, timecard edits and approvals, annual evaluations, staff assignments, attending and facilitating meetings, and new hire orientation.

Key Responsibilities

Interviews patients and relatives to obtain social history relevant to patient's medical problems and assess bereavement risk relative to anticipatory grief and family members needs post death.
Oversees patients and staff, scheduling, timecard edits and approvals, annual evaluations, staff assignments, attending and facilitating meetings, and new hire orientation.
Assists patients with environmental difficulties that interfere with obtaining maximum benefits from medical care.
Serves as liaison between medical and nursing staffs, patients, relatives, and appropriate outside agencies.
Interprets and assists in resolving social problems that relate to medical condition and/or hospitalization.

Requirements

Master's degree in Social Work required.
Two (2) years of social work experience in an acute care setting preferred. Two years supervisory experience preferred as required by department.
HeartSaver First Aid/CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required per department. A valid AZ fingerprint clearance card may be required per department. Licensed by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners as LCSW may be required per department.
