Schedule:

Full-Time or Part-Time options available. This role is ideal for a physician who values a flexible work schedule and aims to minimize uncompensated clinical responsibilities. Limited or no on-call duties are required, with flexibility in scheduling, although weekly in-person rounds are necessary.


Summary:

Utilize and adapt medical principles, methods, and techniques to provide comprehensive geriatric and post-acute care services. Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating various diseases and injuries, ensuring quality patient care, and evaluating medical procedures to enhance service delivery.


Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Diagnosing pain resulting from injuries, diseases, or disabilities.
  • Evaluating and treating patients with physical and/or cognitive impairments.
  • Determining and implementing suitable treatment plans.
  • Monitoring patient progress and adjusting treatment plans as needed.
  • Providing adaptive tools to enhance overall health and physical functioning.
  • Counseling patients and families to facilitate lifestyle adjustments.
  • Offering support and guidance to long-term care patients.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong understanding of medical practices in geriatric and post-acute care settings, along with knowledge of medical policies and regulations. Skills in maintaining medical quality assurance and the ability to respond effectively in emergencies are essential. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are also required.


Education:

Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree.


Experience:

Experience in geriatrics and post-acute care settings is preferred but not mandatory. Familiarity with EHR documentation and proficiency in billing practices are beneficial. A positive attitude and a commitment to quality care are crucial.


License/Certification:

Current unrestricted medical license in the state of employment. Certification by The American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR) is required, along with a current DEA certificate (or in progress).
