Medical Assistant - Patient Care Specialist Position Summary: At Union Health Service, we are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant - Patient Care Specialist to provide high-quality nursing care to patients, implement procedures and programs, coordinate work, report information, and assist with tasks to support department operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist nursing supervisors and staff in carrying out their responsibilities.
  • Provide patient care under the direction of nursing staff.
  • Take and record vital signs, blood glucose, and blood pressure.
  • Comply with policies and procedures of UHS, OSHA, and HIPAA standards.
  • Rotate among various clinical services and assist with patient intake.
  • Notify nurses regarding patient complaints and assist with patient check-out.
  • Perform EKGs and maintain supply inventory.

Requirements:

  • High School graduate or higher.
  • CMA certification.
  • Experience in an ambulatory medical facility (helpful but not necessary).
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish or Polish preferred).
