Purpose and Scope

This position is responsible for providing administrative and clinical support to the healthcare team at Physicians Plus Urgent Care. The Medical Assistant will assist with various tasks, including patient care, medical procedures, and office duties.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist with patient care, including vital signs, laboratory testing, and other procedures as needed.
  2. Prepare patients for exams and procedures, and assist with minor office procedures.
  3. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, and ensure confidentiality of patient information.
  4. Assist with administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments, answering phones, and handling correspondence.
  5. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care and communication.
  6. Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with industry standards and best practices.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned by the healthcare team.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Ability to work a 12-hour shift, including weekends and holidays.
  • Knowledge of office procedures and equipment.
  • Experience with medical terminology and typing.
  • Positive service-oriented interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret patient information and provide care appropriate to the patient's needs.
Preferred Qualifications

Medical Assistant Certification and previous experience in a medical setting are preferred.

Physical Demands

This position requires a full range of body motion, including standing, walking, lifting, and bending. The associate will be required to walk for up to one hour a day, stand for five hours a day, and sit for two hours a day. The individual must be able to lift 20 pounds and reach work above the shoulders. The individual must have good eye-hand coordination and fine finger dexterity. The individual must have excellent verbal communication skills to perform daily tasks.
