Key Responsibilities:
- Direct Patient Care: Deliver comprehensive nursing care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating treatment for patients in the NICU.
- Patient Assessments: Conduct ongoing evaluations to monitor patient conditions, recognizing and responding to changes effectively.
- Care Planning: Collaborate with patients and families to establish care goals, coordinating with the interdisciplinary team to advocate for patient needs.
- Implementation of Care: Administer medications and treatments, ensuring accurate documentation of all nursing activities.
- Evaluation of Outcomes: Engage in continuous assessment of patient and family outcomes, contributing to quality improvement initiatives.
- Leadership Development: Mentor and guide junior staff, pursue ongoing education, and maintain necessary certifications.
- Department-Specific Duties: Complete admission assessments, communicate significant changes in patient conditions, and uphold safety standards.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
- A degree from an accredited nursing program.
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Within one year of employment:
- Completion of Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Completion of STABLE certification.
Within six months of employment:
- Completion of Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
Preferred Qualifications:
A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is highly desirable.
