Childcare Site Supervisor

Join the YMCA of Kingston and Ulster County, Inc. team as a Childcare Site Supervisor, a vital role in our Before and After School Care team. As a Site Supervisor, you will be dedicated to a specific program site location(s) and responsible for the oversight of the afterschool program in partnership with the collaborating school.

• Administer the day-to-day operation of the afterschool program, ensuring that all program components are implemented as planned.
• Monitor student enrollment and implement activities per plan to engage all children.
• Assist counselors as needed and prepare and monitor staff schedules to maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios.
• Coordinate with school administration, teachers, and other community members as needed.
• Evaluate program quality and fidelity, implementing necessary steps to remedy weaknesses according to Y-USA measurement and evaluation guidelines.
• Promote a team concept through positive supervision, communication, and interactions with others.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have an Associate's degree in a similar field, or 18 credits in childhood development or a related field with one year of experience, or two years of relevant experience working with children under 13 in an educational setting with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess oral, auditory, and written communication skills for interacting with children and adults.
• Positive role model with strong leadership, conflict resolution, and diplomacy skills.
• Must be capable of directing daily administrative, program-related, and supervisory responsibilities of the Afterschool Program.

This part-time position is dedicated to a specific program site location(s) and is responsible for the oversight of the afterschool program in partnership with the collaborating school. The Site Supervisor serves as the primary contact to the school administration and faculty and helps establish the YUSA signature program at the assigned school.

This position provides day-to-day supervision for a short summer program that complements summer learning at Chambers Elementary School in Kingston, NY from July 26th through August 13th from 1:30-5:30 pm daily, M-F. Provides a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.
