We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Counselor to join our team at Elk Hill Farm Inc. As a Residential Counselor, you will play a vital role in creating a supportive and therapeutic environment for our youth, helping them develop positive changes in attitude, values, and behavior.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide high-quality childcare during coverage, including documentation of each shift.
- Oversee the physical care of the facility's youth, helping them develop acceptable habits and attitudes.
- Provide behavior support and intervention, and help youth meet their goals and objectives.
- Build positive relationships with youth, modeling high personal and professional standards.
- Assist in training new personnel, organizing group activities, and facilitating medication dispersal.
- At least six months of experience working with children with mental health diagnoses, preferably in residential care or clinical settings.
- Successful experience and demonstrated competence in working with youth in a group home or residential setting.
- Knowledge and understanding of cultural diversity and the impact of socioeconomic characteristics on our youth.
- Ability to provide sound documentation during routine shift coverage and work effectively with others.
