Agricultural Equipment Mechanic

Job Summary

TRULAND Equipment is a leading John Deere dealer with a strong presence in Indiana and Ohio, serving residential, commercial, and agricultural applications. We are seeking a skilled Agricultural Equipment Mechanic to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently perform diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural and turf equipment.
• May require some direction or guidance from the Location Service Management team.
• Perform diagnostics and repairs on John Deere agricultural equipment and technology.
• May perform diagnostics and repairs on competitive equipment.
• Operate and maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment required to perform job responsibilities.
• Participate in John Deere University training and dealer-led training to further the development of skills and knowledge.
• Mentor Service Technician Apprentices and Students as requested.
• May conduct or support customer clinics.
• Maintain condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment.
• Responsible for tracking all materials used in performing assigned duties.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience performing service repairs preferred; demonstrated experience consistently meeting performance metrics preferred.
• Ability to perform repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures with limited re-work or customer dissatisfaction.
• Experience with the mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in off-road, construction, lawn, or heavy equipment.
• Ability to operate vehicles, tools, and equipment for diagnostic purposes.
• Experience with basic computer functions; experience using Service ADVISORTM or other computer-based diagnostic repair tools preferred.
• Experience communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
• CDL (Commercial Driver's License) and forklift license preferred.
