About the Position

Sonoma State University is seeking a highly qualified Part-time Lecturer to teach chemistry courses in our Department of Chemistry. As a member of our faculty, you will play a critical role in shaping the educational experience of our students and contributing to the department's mission to provide a comprehensive and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities
  • Teach a variety of chemistry courses, including introductory chemistry, general chemistry, organic chemistry, and biochemistry
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and assessments to promote student learning and success
  • Advise and mentor students in their academic and professional pursuits
  • Participate in departmental and university service activities, such as curriculum development and committee work
Requirements
  • Master's or Ph.D. in Chemistry or a related field
  • Teaching experience in chemistry courses at the college level
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse and inclusive environment
