Phlebotomist - Geisinger Medical Center - Full Time - Nights

As a Phlebotomist II at Geisinger Medical Center, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care through innovative, efficient, and high-quality laboratory services. You will be responsible for performing a wide range of tasks to collect specimens of the highest analytical quality for testing and accurate information for the system and medical laboratories' clients.
Key Responsibilities- Perform venipunctures and skin punctures to obtain blood specimens according to Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute guidelines.
- Exhibit knowledge of adequate and correct collection requirements.
- Perform accessioning procedures appropriately and accurately to ensure positive identification of the specimens.
- Recognize and resolve discrepancies as appropriate.
- Evaluate specimen suitability and acceptability.
- Resolve or refer problems as appropriate.
- Perform testing and record Point of Care instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality control as assigned.
- Handle and replenish reagents and supplies according to established protocols as assigned.
- Follow established reporting procedures as appropriate.
- Record and report problems and solutions as appropriate.
- Navigate and access multiple computer applications as needed.
- Know and abide by related policies and procedures including compliance policies.
- Provide phlebotomy coverage as required to Medical Group offices, skilled nursing facilities, or perform in-home phlebotomy for homebound patients.
- Successful completion of initial and subsequent competency exams required.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
- Minimum of 1 year-Related work experience
- Valid Driver's License
