Helen Keller Services is seeking a dedicated Rehabilitation Instructor to join our team at the Helen Keller National Center (HKNC). As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals who are DeafBlind or have a combined hearing and vision loss to achieve their goals and live independently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and provide training in independent living skills to foster a more independent and productive lifestyle in the community.
  • Perform independent living skills assessments to determine realistic short and long-term goals.
  • Collaborate with the team to design training activities, implement individualized programs, and evaluate progress.
  • Communicate with team members to ensure consumer training priorities and goals are met.
  • Participate in Community of Practice (COP) to support learning and contribute to the development of peers.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Rehabilitation Teaching, Special Education, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Braille and sign language, with fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a healthy work-life balance.
