Position Overview

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) / Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is a versatile healthcare professional dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care in collaboration with a team of healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive patient care and support.
  • Administer medical services within the defined scope of practice, adhering to established protocols and policies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date Electronic Health Records (EHR) for all patient interactions.
  • Provide educational resources to patients as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in all interactions with patients and colleagues.
  • Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures, including obtaining vital signs.
  • Manage patient communications, including returning calls and coordinating with vendors.
  • Conduct nurse visits within the defined scope of practice.
  • Engage in training and educational programs as required.
  • Oversee inventory management, ensuring adequate supplies are available.
  • Restock clinical and examination areas as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Stay informed about Vaccines for Children processes.
  • Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in data collection and audits as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • National certification as a CMA or RMA is mandatory.
  • Preferred experience of at least one year as a CMA or RMA.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong organizational and self-motivational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Competence in caring for both pediatric and adult patients.
  • Willingness to travel to various locations as needed.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Familiarity with medical equipment such as ECG, PFT, and lab centrifuge.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Physical and Emotional Demands:

  • Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate office equipment.
  • Exposure to potentially challenging patient interactions.
