Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Medical Technologist to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a Senior Medical Technologist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures, including phlebotomy and specimen processing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory tests and procedures, including phlebotomy and specimen processing
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of test results
  • Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment
  • Collaborate with other laboratory staff to ensure smooth laboratory operations
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure accurate test results

Requirements

  • ASCP certification and registry with an accredited agency
  • CLIA or COLA Deemed Status standards
  • Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory methodologies and techniques
  • Previous experience performing phlebotomy and processing specimens
  • Ability to troubleshoot laboratory instruments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a complex laboratory environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory software programs

Working Conditions

This position requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment. The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
