Role Overview
As a Psychiatric Registered Nurse 1, you will deliver expert nursing care to individuals with mental health conditions. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of nursing interventions, comprehensive documentation, case identification, health education/counseling, and the provision of supportive and/or rehabilitative care. You will also engage in staff development, compile clinical and administrative reports, uphold infection control protocols, and collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team. Additionally, you may assume the role of charge nurse within a unit, overseeing the maintenance of inventory standards for medications, controlled substances, and narcotics.
Important Notes:
- Failure to maintain your nursing license and/or registration post-appointment may result in removal from the position.
- To qualify for appointment and sustain employment, you must not be listed as an excluded individual or entity on any Federal and/or State Medicaid and Medicare exclusion lists (or excluded from any other Federal or Federally assisted program). If you are appointed and later found to be excluded from these lists, your employment may be terminated.
- Upon appointment, you may be required to enroll as a Medicare provider; obtain and provide your employer with a National Provider Identifier (NPI) number issued by the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES); and actively participate to the extent necessary for your services to be billed through Medicare and Medicaid. If you lose the ability to bill through these programs after appointment, your employment may be terminated.

Compensation Details
The posted hiring rate includes the combination of the statutory hiring rate for PS&T Grade 18, an Increase Hiring Rate, and a Geographic Pay Differential. The total job rate is the sum of the statutory job rate and the Geographic Pay Differential.
Additional Compensation May Apply Based On Shift Assignment.
