Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Director of Nursing Services in planning, organizing, and directing daily operations of the Nursing Department, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as facility policies.
- Current CPR Certification or willingness to obtain within two weeks of hire.
- Interest or knowledge in therapy, rehabilitation, restorative care, activities of daily living (ADL), splinting, and range of motion (ROM) programs.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English clearly.
- Ability to make independent decisions when necessary.
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage with customers, families, visitors, and staff.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills, with a collaborative approach to working with team members.
- Personable, enthusiastic, and resourceful demeanor.
- Ability to move throughout the work environment during shifts.
- Capacity to manage the mental and emotional demands of the role.
- Must possess adequate vision and hearing, or utilize prosthetics to fulfill job requirements.

- Good overall health and emotional stability are essential.
- Ability to interact with individuals who may be ill, disabled, elderly, or emotionally distressed.
- Physical capability to lift, push, pull, and move items exceeding fifty (50) pounds.
- Potential exposure to infectious materials and health risks.
- Review and update departmental policies, procedures, and job descriptions annually, making recommendations to the Director of Nursing.
- Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures, including dress code.
- Assist in creating individualized care plans for each customer, addressing their specific needs.
- Participate in care plan conferences and family council meetings as needed.
- Address and report any concerns or complaints from customers or their families to the Administrator.
- Conduct regular meetings with nursing staff to identify and resolve issues and enhance service quality.
- Assist in the recruitment and selection of nursing staff with the Director of Nursing's approval.
- Support the Director of Nursing in scheduling and assigning work to ensure adequate staffing levels.
- Provide counseling and disciplinary actions as necessary.
- Complete performance evaluations in a timely manner.
- Conduct daily rounds to monitor nursing staff performance and customer care.
- Foster a warm, welcoming, and calm environment within the department.
- Plan and lead in-service education programs for staff development.
- Facilitate effective orientation programs for new staff members.
- Engage in ongoing education and training opportunities.
- Advise the Director of Nursing on equipment and supply needs, adhering to budgetary guidelines.
- Maintain budgetary compliance through proper purchasing procedures.
- Coordinate nursing services with other departments to ensure comprehensive customer care.
- Perform necessary administrative tasks, including reports and evaluations.
- Monitor staff attendance to ensure adequate nursing coverage.
- Assist in the organization of nursing units.
- Provide insights to the Director of Nursing regarding customer care needs and departmental capabilities.
- Assist with scheduling appointments and transportation for customers.
- Support training programs related to nursing services.
- Ensure all care providers are familiar with and adhere to care plans.
- Attend relevant departmental meetings as directed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
