Job Summary

The Office of Children & Family Services (OCFS) is seeking a highly skilled Associate Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary treatment team in the Division for Juvenile Justice and Opportunities for Youth (DJJOY). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive mental health services to youth in our residential setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct admission screenings, including mental status exams and suicide assessments.
  • Develop and implement 30-day assessments, including mental health and substance use screens, youth and collateral interviews, and record reviews.
  • Collaborate with assigned psychiatrists to develop treatment plans.
  • Provide individual and group counseling and psychotherapy services.
  • Conduct treatment reviews and cognitive and other psychological testing as needed.
  • Participate in the facility Committee on Special Education.
  • Develop discharge plans.
Requirements
  • Doctoral degree in a field of psychology.
  • One year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in this title or a title eligible for 70.1 transfer.
  • Experience working with youth in a clinical setting.
