We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Test Pilot to join our Flight Test team, driving innovation and excellence in the development of our electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) vehicle and supporting ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct experimental flight tests in our eVTOL aircraft, ensuring accurate and repeatable data for our engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with flight test engineers to develop test plans, test cards, and procedures, aligning with engineering requirements.
  • Develop and maintain flight manuals, operations, checklists, and procedures, ensuring compliance with company and FAA standards.
  • Lead and participate in safety of flight and flight readiness review boards, upholding the highest standards of safety and responsibility.
  • Complete all required documentation, maintaining adherence to established company and FAA procedures.
  • Maintain flying currency and proficiency in multiple aircraft types, staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in aviation.
  • Travel up to 50% domestically and internationally, representing Supernal at industry events and conferences.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering or related field, with a Master's degree in flight test engineering or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum ten years of experience in engineering, with a minimum of five years as an Experimental Test Pilot or equivalent experience.
  • Graduate of a recognized Test Pilot School or equivalent level of experience as a Test Pilot.
  • FAA Class II Medical certification, Commercial pilot license, and 1000+ hours of PIC total VTOL aircraft flight experience.
  • Experience with Risk Management, including Hazard Identification and preparing Risk Assessments, as well as Uninhabited Aerial System (UAS) certification and testing.
  • Familiarity with standard flight test processes and procedures, knowledge of the FAA civil certification process, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
