About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team at the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center at Emerson Hospital. As a key member of our interdisciplinary cancer care team, you will provide direct and indirect clinical care to our oncology population in a collaborative and patient-centered environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and record patient history and physical exams, and discuss findings with physicians
  • Apply advanced practice knowledge to identify, prevent, or solve complex patient care problems
  • Follow and manage patients in collaboration with physicians to improve continuity of care
  • Perform specialized procedures and coordinate resources to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Collaborate with unit staff and physicians to facilitate a comprehensive plan of care and coordinate resources
  • Write orders in accordance with current guidelines and maintain accurate documentation
  • Provide consultation and education to nurses and physicians, and serve as a resource to staff in areas of expertise
  • Participate in intra and interdepartmental committees, develop educational programs, and collaborate with staff to meet educational needs
  • Evaluate own practice and program efficiency, identify system-wide factors contributing to undesirable outcomes, and facilitate patient movement through the system
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Nursing or completion of NCCPA program
  • Current licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a registered NP/PA
  • 3 years of Advanced Practice experience in hematology/oncology required
  • Proficiency with Epic and telemedicine preferred
  • Familiarity with clinical trials preferred
  • Ability to effectively communicate clinical information, care plans, etc. to medical and lay audiences
  • Skilled in crafting appropriate documentation and use of electronic medical records
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
