We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Premier Medical Group. As an LPN in our Urology Department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our medical staff.
Key Responsibilities- Assist physicians with patient office visits, including rooming patients, recording vital signs, and reconciling medication lists.
- Administer medication and vaccines in accordance with physician orders and The Five Rights of Medication Administration.
- Perform select clinical tests, such as glucose finger sticks and A1C testing.
- Complete administrative tasks, including prescription refills, sending referrals, and communicating with patients.
- Compile and assist providers with follow-up of lab/imaging results and reports to patients as directed.
- Responsible for organization, cleaning, and re-stocking of exam rooms.
- Demonstrate appropriate use and disposal of hazardous waste.
- Field patient phone calls, electronic messages, and triage, prioritize messages, and respond accordingly.
- Assist with requests/obtain patient medical records.
- Demonstrate proper infection control procedures and follow universal precautions.
- Perform all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the possibility of medical errors.
- Current NYS LPN license required.
- Experience as an LPN in a physician's office, preferably in Internal Medicine.
- Current Infection Control Certificate is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care according to individual needs.
- Familiarity with EMR systems preferred.
- Flexibility to work one Saturday per month.
- Travel to any of the Premier Medical Group locations may be necessary upon request.
