RN Clinical Coordinator Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced RN Clinical Coordinator to join our team at RWJBarnabas Health. The successful candidate will provide exceptional nursing care in the acute care setting, directing and supervising all functions and activities to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care in the acute care setting, adhering to the Nursing Practice Act and regulatory standards.
  • Direct and supervise all functions and activities in a patient care setting, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of care.
  • Supervise and train RNs, LPNs, CMAs, and MA externs, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Identify and report safety issues, such as hazardous environments and medical errors, to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, laws, and regulations, maintaining a high level of professionalism and integrity.

Requirements:

  • AS/AS Degree or higher.
  • Two to three years of experience in a related specialty.
  • CMA Certification and current NJ Licensure required for LPN, RN.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BSN Degree preferred.
  • Previous office supervisory or managerial experience preferred.
  • Bilingual a plus.

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • CMA Certification.
  • BLS Certification from AHA.

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Day Shift, 40 hours/week (8:30 AM - 5 PM).
  • Full-Time Schedule.

  • Maintain positive relationships with all customers, employees, physicians, patients, visitors, and guests.
  • Utilize a variety of feedback to improve processes and services to meet and exceed customer needs.
  • Use sound employee relations practices and maintain high levels of visibility and accessibility.
  • Follow through on all customer requests and inquiries in a timely fashion.
  • Utilize principles of CQI in all work situations.
  • Seek feedback and recommendations from others to improve the quality, processes, and services.
  • Contribute to improving quality services and productivity (takes the initiative to continually evaluate one's work, report problems, suggest solutions, and try new ideas).
  • Effectively allocate and schedule resources.
  • Able to project and appropriately staff the unit/department to effectively function to demand.
  • Utilize resources, both labor and non-labor, to maximize efficiency and quality.
  • Adhere to budgetary guidelines and targets, proactively managing budget variances and causes.
  • Determine priorities and organize work and time to meet them.
  • Follow sound employee retention techniques; effective selection and interviewing, recognition, fair and timely discipline, and ongoing performance feedback.
  • Interact constructively, tactfully, and diplomatically with others and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Demonstrate cultural competency and ability to maintain a diverse workforce.
  • Complete tasks and assignments in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner.
  • Remain positive and focused despite obstacles and setbacks.
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency in completing assignments.
  • Organize multiple assignments and/or projects simultaneously to accomplish goals.
  • Assist the physician(s) with patients, including preparing patients and the examination rooms, taking initial medical history for the chart, taking vital signs, making lab and x-ray appointments, and explaining the preparations to the patients.
  • Back up for Practice Manager in the absence of Practice Manager in conjunction with Front office Supervisor.
  • Check the dating of medical supplies or assign the process to other employees.
  • Give instructions to patients as instructed by physician, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant.
