We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Operating Room at Ascension St. Vincent Heart Center. As an Operating Room Nurse, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical services.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver professional nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures, including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care.
- Perform scrub functions, including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies, to ensure a safe and efficient surgical environment.
- Assist operating physicians with surgical tasks, including hemostasis, suturing, and wound exposure, as well as patient positioning.
- Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use, ensuring that all necessary supplies are available and in good working order.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure that all patients receive high-quality care and that all surgical procedures are completed safely and efficiently.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Indiana.
- One or more of the following certifications: Advanced Life Support (ALS) or Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Diploma from an accredited school of nursing or equivalent.
- Experience working in an operating room environment.
- Knowledge of cardiac services and surgical procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks efficiently.
