The Registered Nurse at City of Hope plays a crucial role in supporting our mission and vision by providing nursing and case management services to patients and their families. This position is essential in coordinating and managing individual health needs throughout the continuum of care. The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans, ensuring optimal quality, clinical, and financial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full-Time Commitment: Must be available to work Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 4:30 PM.
- Alignment with Hospital Mission: The nurse's actions should reflect the hospital's mission and vision by delivering comprehensive nursing and case management services.
- Patient Assessment and Coordination: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' clinical and personal circumstances, coordinating care plans and collaborating with the healthcare team for optimal outcomes.
- Oncology Expertise: Utilize knowledge in oncology and chemotherapy to monitor symptoms, educate patients and families about treatment plans, and address quality of life concerns.
- Documentation and Communication: Ensure timely and accurate documentation of assessments and interventions in the electronic medical record, while maintaining effective communication with the healthcare team and patients.
- Patient Education: Provide essential education to patients, facilitating informed decision-making regarding treatment options and ensuring access to necessary resources.
- Team Collaboration: Act as a resource and facilitator, promoting effective communication and collaboration among team members, patients, and families to enhance patient satisfaction and outcomes.
- Policy Adherence: Perform nursing tasks in accordance with facility policies, regulatory standards, and best practices.
- Efficient Service Delivery: Ensure timely responses to patient inquiries and needs, contributing to the overall efficiency of service delivery.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
- A current RN license from an accredited institution in Georgia.
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required or enrollment in a BSN program within six months of hire, with completion within three years.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must obtain AHA certification within 30 days of hire).
