Position Overview
The Quality Assurance Automation Engineer will play a crucial role in developing top-tier QA automation and integration frameworks, utilizing advanced tools for white box testing. This position focuses on testing solutions tailored for AdTech components, including APIs, AdEngine, and Analytics.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct testing for large-scale data ingestion and aggregation processes using Spark shell and related queries.
- Design and implement automation frameworks utilizing programming languages such as Python to streamline big data workflows, including ingestion, aggregation, and ETL processes.
- Identify and resolve issues within the big data ecosystem through effective debugging and troubleshooting.
- Establish the big data platform and Hadoop ecosystem for comprehensive testing.
- Develop test strategies and write detailed test plans for enhancements and new features/services within the data platform.
- Define operational procedures, service monitors, and alerts, collaborating with the NOC team for implementation.
- Oversee system and performance testing of the data platform and associated applications.
- Provide technical consultation and devise solutions for complex engineering projects.
- Review product specifications, create test cases, and develop test plans for designated areas.
- Identify technical interdependencies and propose potential solutions.
- Reproduce complex customer-reported issues to ascertain root causes and validate fixes.
- 3-5 years of experience in SDET or QA Engineer roles.
- 2+ years of experience with Python, PySpark, and Big Data technologies.
- Proficient programming skills.
- Experience in testing reporting and analytics for e-commerce platforms.
- Familiarity with closed-loop reporting for e-commerce AdTech components.
- Hands-on experience in automating backend applications (e.g., databases, REST APIs).
- Solid understanding of relational databases, SQL, and debugging techniques.
- Strong experience in Linux/Unix environments.
- Thorough knowledge of testing methodologies.
- Practical experience with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark.
- Experience in ETL testing.
- Proficient in QA automation framework development and design, with a strong grasp of data structures.
- Preferred programming languages include Python and Shell Scripting.
- Strong understanding of operating systems and performance benchmarking.
- A quick learner with a positive attitude and strong teamwork skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
The base compensation range for this role is $120,000 - $140,000. In addition to salary, PubMatic offers a bonus and a competitive benefits package, including paid leave programs, healthcare, dental and vision insurance, disability and life insurance, commuter benefits, wellness programs, and unlimited time off in the US.
