Position Overview
As we expand our services, we are seeking dedicated Physician Assistants (PAs) who are open to traveling to various office locations in Southeast Pennsylvania.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and manage both pediatric and adult patients with diverse ENT conditions.
- Conduct ENT procedures, including fiberoptic scope examinations, abscess drainage, epistaxis control, ear examinations, biopsies, tracheostomy care, and tube changes.
- Deliver patient care under the direct supervision of attending physicians.
- Evaluate patients in a private practice environment, gathering pertinent medical histories, performing comprehensive ENT examinations, ordering necessary imaging, interpreting diagnostic tests, and formulating care plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
- Review and modify treatment and therapy plans as required.
- Administer medications and refills in accordance with practice protocols or specific orders from supervising physicians, documenting accurately in patient records.
- Order and collect specimens for routine laboratory analyses.
- Request appropriate imaging or ancillary services as needed.
- Initiate and coordinate patient referrals to other healthcare providers, clinics, and community resources.
- Perform clinical procedures authorized by supervising physicians within established practice guidelines.
- Complete all necessary medical record documentation proficiently using EMR systems.
- Build rapport with patients and adapt to varying environments effectively.
- Respond to patient inquiries, messages, and calls, providing triage as necessary.
- Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and clinical policies and procedures.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervising physician or Practice Administrator.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
- Possession of a current, unencumbered Physician Assistant license in Pennsylvania.
- Board certification from the National Commission of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) required at the time of hire, with ongoing certification throughout employment.
- Previous experience as a Physician Assistant in ENT is preferred; training in the ENT specialty will be provided for candidates with relevant clinical experience.
- Current AHA BLS certification.
- Registration with the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for prescribing controlled substances is required.
- Pennsylvania Controlled Substance Registration (CSR) is necessary.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership capabilities.
Supervision Structure
Supervision will be provided by the attending physician within the Clinic, Service, or Department. The supervising physician retains ongoing responsibility for patient progress and ensures that the Physician Assistant operates under their supervision, accountable for all medical services rendered.
