Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our team at the Dallas Independent School District. The successful candidate will provide ongoing Occupational Therapy services to students with special needs, working closely with educational staff to deliver effective interventions and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Occupational Therapy services to students with IEP recommendations, including gathering information and equipment for OT evaluation, consulting with educational staff, and providing direct OT services.
  • Maintain accurate and professional documentation, adhering to district policy and ensuring accountability.
  • Manage and maintain therapy program inventory, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.
  • Provide ongoing training to school staff on specific tasks that support occupational therapy goals and objectives.
  • Participate in program development activities as directed by the lead therapist.
  • Meet all requirements related to the Title II grant, ensuring 100% compliance.
Qualifications
  • Associate of Applied Science Degree from an accredited university, with a valid Texas license as an Occupational Therapy Assistant issued by the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners.
  • Successful completion of formal school-based pediatric affiliation or alternate pediatric experience.
  • Evidence of participation in continuing education within the scope of pediatric school-based practice.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to the provision of occupational therapy services in the school setting.
  • Demonstrated competencies in pediatric occupational therapy service delivery in an educational setting.
  • Demonstrated strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
