UPMC McKeesport is seeking a Full-Time Weekend Staff Nurse to support the 4M Med/Surg Unit. This role requires a team player who can work collaboratively with colleagues to provide high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain productive working relationships with colleagues and patients
- Communicate effectively with peers and management to ensure safe work environments
- Apply the nursing process to create a healing environment and formulate daily goals and plans of care for patients
- Practice critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify clinical, social, safety, psychological, and spiritual issues for patient care
- Provide detailed and appropriate teaching to patients and families to guide them through the episode of care
- Support the development of students, new staff, and colleagues, and may serve as a preceptor
- 6 months of previous Nursing experience
- Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with executives, managers, physicians, and patients/families
- Ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment and handle multiple/changing priorities and specialized equipment
- Good clinical judgment with critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- BSN preferred
- Current Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Temporary Practice Permit (TPP)
- UPMC-approved national certification is preferred
- CPR is required based on AHA standards
- Generous sign-on bonus of up to $15,000
- Monthly Loan Repayment program for nursing graduates
- Up to five and a half weeks of Paid Time Off annually, plus seven paid holidays each year
- Tuition reimbursement of up to $6,000 per academic school year
