Job Title: Next Gen Sequencing Specialist

LabCorp Drug Development is seeking a highly skilled Next Gen Sequencing Specialist to join our Genomics team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing clinical laboratory testing, preparing workstations and instrumentation, and operating instruments to implement and perform testing in accordance with established written procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform assigned clinical laboratory testing accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Prepare workstation and instrumentation for the assigned testing.
  • Operate instruments to implement and perform testing in accordance with established written procedures.
  • Resolve routine and non-routine assay problems.
  • Provide technical training/consultation for other operational staff.
  • Ensure the validity of test results through the performance of established quality assurance and quality control procedures.
Requirements:
  • BS or MS degree in Life Sciences, Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science OR Associate's degree in medical laboratory technology.
  • A minimum of 2 years hands-on experience with NGS technologies and practices including but not limited to Nucleic Acid isolation and manipulation, library preparation, QC, and NGS platform operations (MiSeq, NextSeq, NovaSeq preferred).
  • Knowledge of clinical laboratory automation platforms is a plus.
  • Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, resolve and report results and findings (informatics experience is not required but is a plus).
