Job Summary

The Material Handler plays a crucial role in maintaining warehouse stock and assisting in fulfilling orders. This position is responsible for loading and unloading product from and to our production department daily.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the workflow of the shipping department to ensure no interruptions, delays, or stops within the process.
  • Move products constantly and maintain attention to detail.
  • Pack, label, and stage all shipments.
  • Perform basic accounting measures, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Operate heavy equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Utilize strong inventory control experience to maintain accurate records.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Forklift experience is preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Quick learner and team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be at least 21 years old and pass a comprehensive background screening.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 100 lbs to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance.
  • Ability to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods of time, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stopping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks.
  • Ability to handle organic matter daily, wear PPE as appropriate, and be exposed to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions while wearing PPE.
  • Visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as reading, viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions.
  • Ability to speak and communicate verbally at conversation levels with co-workers, vendors, etc. (Moderate noise).

Salary will be commensurate with experience. A comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, is offered with this position. This position will work an average of 40 hours per week and will be available 'after hours' if an emergency situation should arise.
