Dental Assistant Professional

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team at GraceMed Health Clinic, Inc. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dental team in delivering high-quality services.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare patients for treatment, access dental records, and provide instruments and materials needed during procedures.
- Obtain and review patient and family history in dental records, and chaperone and assist dentists during exams and procedures.
- Return or receive patient phone calls, perform triage, and assess dental needs of patients, coordinating appropriate care or interventions as needed.
- Maintain and stock exam rooms, clean and sterilize equipment and instruments, and provide post-treatment and oral health care instruction as requested.
- Take impressions for study models, crowns, bridges, dentures, and partial dentures, and pour up models as necessary, and take digital X-rays as directed by the dentist.
- Maintain clinical equipment and supplies, and perform direct patient care within the limits of your training and capabilities when the dentist is unavailable.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times, and assist in the development and documentation of protocols related to your job functions.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; graduate from an accredited Dental Assistant program strongly preferred.
- Previous dental office experience preferred; minimum one-year direct experience in a Dental Assistant role required for candidates with no formal DA education.
- CPR certification required (must be obtained within 30 days of employment).
- Successful candidate must submit to TB testing and any vaccinations recommended by OSHA Guidelines.
Schedules vary; may require overtime depending on patient volumes. Work in a dental office environment, with a multi-task oriented position including direct patient care, requiring sitting or standing for long periods, bending, stooping, and lifting (up to 50lbs). Must interact with dentists, dental hygienists, patients, and other office personnel, and possess socio-economic and cultural sensitivity.
May involve contact with angry, upset, or ill persons, and potential exposure to blood and body fluids and other hazardous substances. Must have visual acuity and manual dexterity to assist with procedures, perform and interpret lab results, and interface with computer, and auditory acuity to handle phone calls and extensive patient interaction.
