We are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at WVU Medicine. As a key member of our food preparation team, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals for patients, employees, and the public.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize all work areas for food production
- Set up bars and lines
- Restock, clean, and straighten as necessary
- Gather ingredients efficiently according to recipe
- Follow menu cycle, proper portions, and standardized recipes
- Properly store, label, and date leftovers and products
- Serve customers efficiently and remain focused on the customer and service throughout the encounter
- Address customer complaints in a polite and professional manner
- Document temperatures and ensure equipment is functioning properly
- Present food items in an attractive and orderly arrangement
- Communicate with servers regarding portion size, number of pans prepared, location of pans, and ingredients
Requirements:
- Valid Food Service Worker Permit (FSWP) from the local health department
- Person In Charge certification within 90 days of hire
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year experience as a cook
