Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement dog training plans for pet parents and their dogs, focusing on positive reinforcement techniques and eliminating punishment-based methods.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and coaching to pet parents, promoting the science-based positive training philosophies of our Petco Positive Dog Training Program.
  • Work collaboratively with Pet Care Center partners to build strong community relationships and drive business growth.
  • Maintain a safe and clean dog training environment, adhering to operational guidelines and policies.
  • Stay up-to-date with new products and services, engaging with customers to promote their features and benefits.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Petco Positive Dog Training Instructor Program certification preferred.
  • Background in public speaking, presenting, and facilitating groups; comfort level with technology and ability to coach others on troubleshooting issues.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to quickly research information from the Internet.
  • CPDT-KA or Karen Pryor Academy (KPA-CTP) certifications a plus; previous experience teaching positive reinforcement dog training techniques in group or class settings a plus.
