Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Preparation and Communication

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and be able to prepare patients for diagnostic imaging procedures while ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process. The selected individual will also verify patient information, position patients properly, and instruct them on how to hold their breath or remain still during scans.

  • Operation of CT Equipment

The successful applicant will operate and calibrate the CT scanner, setting parameters such as radiation dose, slice thickness, and imaging protocols. They will also administer contrast agents or dye injections under physician or radiologist guidance and monitor the equipment during imaging to ensure high-quality images are captured.

  • Image Quality and Review

The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist will review CT images for quality, ensuring all required areas are captured and meeting diagnostic standards. They will work closely with radiologists to guarantee images are of sufficient quality to support diagnosis and repeat or adjust scans as necessary to improve image quality or comprehensive imaging coverage.

  • Patient Safety and Comfort

The selected candidate will follow safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure to patients, maintaining a sterile, safe, and clean environment in the CT room. They will ensure proper patient positioning to prevent any risk of injury or discomfort during the scan, especially for vulnerable patients.

  • Collaboration and Communication

The successful applicant will work closely with physicians, radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to determine the appropriate imaging procedures and assist in diagnosing medical conditions. They will document patient information, scan parameters, contrast media used, and any complications in the electronic health record (EHR).

The estimated salary for this role is $85,000 per year, based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week.
