Job Description

Uncommon Schools' Data & IT team is undergoing a transformative journey to enhance technology operations and systems. We are seeking a seasoned Agile Project Manager with expertise in building, motivating, and supporting Agile practices. Additional responsibilities include leading teams in the planning and execution of strategic projects using Agile methodologies and practices, as well as overseeing project management governance and compliance. This role will serve as a domain expert for our Agile transformation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Planning and Management: Define project scope and schedule while focusing on regular and timely delivery of value; organize, lead, and facilitate Agile events; prepare and distribute stakeholder communications; manage risks and issues; and perform delivery planning for assigned projects.
  • Team Development: Assist in team development while holding teams accountable for their commitments, removing roadblocks to their work; leveraging organizational resources to improve capacity for project work; mentoring and developing team members; and encouraging a sustainable pace with high-levels of quality for the team.
  • Product Owner Support: Support the Product Owner in managing customer expectations for project deliverables, managing stakeholder communications, and helping to implement an effective system of project governance.
  • Process Management and Improvement: Define and manage a well-defined project management process and champion ongoing process improvement initiatives to implement best practices for Agile Project Management.
