Job Summary:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a crucial role in delivering comprehensive care and support to residents, while collaborating with the nursing team to ensure high-quality service.
Work Schedule: Flexible options for both full-time and part-time positions, including night shifts with shift differentials.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not include supervisory duties.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a state-approved nursing program with clinical training.
- Current licensure as required by the Ohio Board of Nursing.
- Certification in CPR.
- CPI certification to be obtained within the first month of employment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and record patient vital signs.
- Perform essential nursing tasks such as wound care, bathing, and dressing.
- Coordinate patient appointments and necessary documentation.
- Assist healthcare professionals during medical procedures.
- Document and communicate patient symptoms and changes in condition.
- Review and maintain accurate patient records.
- Support patients with their daily hygiene and personal care needs.
- Implement physician orders regarding restraints and seclusion as directed by the RN.
- Administer medications and perform CPR when necessary.
- Facilitate patient transfers to other facilities as required.
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and equipment.
- Educate patients on health-related topics.
- Adhere to safety and health regulations.
- Complete tasks assigned by nursing staff and physicians.
- Ensure confidentiality of patient medical records.
Additional Skills:
Strong understanding of mental health care, including treatment approaches for psychiatric conditions and substance abuse.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and provide constant observation for patients.
Flexibility in scheduling to meet the needs of the facility.
