Position Summary:
Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, the Finance and Accounting Supervisor will oversee a streamlined and scalable accounting operation while enhancing analytical capabilities and fostering financial transparency for all stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team member, adept at prioritizing, delegating, and executing projects within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting. This role requires a hands-on contributor who excels in both execution and process optimization, with significant visibility into all business operations and a crucial role in driving our growth trajectory.

This position offers a hybrid work model, with an expectation of in-office presence at least two days per week.

Key Responsibilities:
Accounting Duties:
  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting, cash management, and tax compliance.
  • Manage month-end and quarter-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting and journal entry preparation.
  • Collaborate with tax advisors to ensure compliance with sales tax and corporate tax regulations.
  • Work alongside the engineering team to identify and rectify inefficiencies, streamlining accounting processes through internally developed solutions.
  • Establish and uphold effective internal controls to protect company assets and minimize financial risks.
  • Provide guidance and support to a small accounting team.
Strategic Financial Management:
  • Lead the financial planning process, encompassing budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis.
  • Create a weekly cash flow dashboard to facilitate informed decision-making regarding deposits, receivables, payables, and debt servicing.
  • Develop reporting dashboards to deliver financial insights and support strategic initiatives and cross-departmental objectives.
  • Implement a vendor management strategy to enhance purchasing power, negotiate discounts, and mitigate risks.
  • Build and maintain relationships with banking partners and client counterparts.
  • Assist with mergers and acquisitions as opportunities arise, including financial modeling, due diligence, and integration efforts.

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience.
  • CPA designation preferred.
  • Experience in public accounting is advantageous.
  • Advanced skills in forecasting and financial modeling, including familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Tableau) preferred.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online and Google Workspace is a plus.
  • Familiarity with carve-out financial statements is beneficial.
