Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Para Educator to support the educational development of students with special needs. As a Para Educator, you will work closely with teachers to assist in classroom activities and provide individualized attention to students who require extra support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and activities
  • Provide one-on-one support to students with special needs
  • Help maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Support classroom management and behavior reinforcement
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and adapt curriculum for diverse learners
  • Assist in the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

Clerical and Administrative Tasks:

  • Clerical tasks, attendance reporting, lunch count, data keeping
  • Attends staff meetings

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or students in an educational setting
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles
  • Familiarity with classroom management techniques
  • Understanding of special education practices
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Signing skills
  • Ability to lift up to 65lbs

Education and Experience:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • No Child Left Behind (NCLB) compliant

Certifications:

  • Standard CPR and First Aid

Work Environment:

  • Full-time, Contract
  • Pay: Starting at $18.12 based on experience
  • Location: Amador County
