Job Title: Peer Specialist

Job Summary:

The Peer Specialist will work with individuals in recovery from mental health conditions to provide support and guidance in their recovery journey. This role will involve delivering peer support services, advocacy, and education to foster engagement in the treatment process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver peer support services, including education, advocacy, and support to individuals in recovery
  • Act as an integral part of an individual's treatment team
  • Conduct regular meetings with individuals in services in their community
  • Accompany individuals into their community for social, leisure, educational, occupational, and/or advocacy-based community integration activities
  • Provide recovery support education for persons enrolled, staff, and family members

Requirements:

  • Must self-identify as an individual with a serious mental illness who is currently or formerly a recipient of mental health services and/or substance abuse recovery services
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) certification

Physical Requirements:

  • Medium: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects

Reporting Relationships:

  • Direct Supervisor: Unit Director
