Position Overview: Assistant, Associate, or Professor of Surgery
The University of Pittsburgh Physicians Heart and Vascular Institute, along with the Department of Surgery's Division of Vascular Surgery, is seeking a fellowship-trained, board-certified or board-eligible vascular surgeon. This role is available at the academic ranks of Assistant, Associate, or Professor, with an open tenure in a well-established academic setting that boasts extensive residency and fellowship training programs, as well as a robust endovascular practice and successful outpatient centers.
The selected candidate will serve as a vascular surgeon within both the UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute (HVI) and the University of Pittsburgh Department of Surgery. Responsibilities will encompass clinical practice, research, and educational duties. The individual will also engage in outreach initiatives for the HVI, enhancing both inpatient and outpatient services across the HVI service area. As a faculty member, the successful applicant will contribute significantly to the research and educational objectives of the HVI.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible
- Proven track record of excellent clinical outcomes
- Experience in teaching or mentoring medical students and residents
- Eligible for medical licensure in Pennsylvania
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
Rank Requirements:
For the rank of Assistant Professor, candidates should demonstrate teaching capabilities, research experience, or professional expertise that contributes to academic development. An Associate Professor should have a strong background in impactful scholarship, a developing national reputation, effective teaching skills, and service contributions. Professors should have achieved a distinguished status in their field through scholarship, professional practice, and leadership within professional organizations.
