Financial Aid Program Manager at Boston University

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Aid Program Manager to join our team at Boston University Student Financial Services. This is a supervisory position that requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of staff members, overseeing financial literacy programs, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. They will also be responsible for awarding and sending notifications to students, as well as managing the office schedule and coverage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer institutional, federal, and private student financial aid programs
- Stay up-to-date with federal, institutional, and private lender policies and participate in policy implementations and maintenance
- Manage the award notification process for all schools
- Monitor, manage, and train a team of assistant directors and a financial aid advisor
- Promote and maintain exemplary customer service by organizing and maintaining the primary schedule and coverage, as well as producing and revising financial aid publications
- Coordinate the Financial Literacy program and debt management counseling
- Oversight of all aspects of Housing Resources
- Manage SFS staff presence during interviews, orientations, and open houses
- Help create and maintain presentation content and ensure presentation coverage for internal and external meetings/events
- Oversight of office student employees; help the Assistant Director manage their schedules and workflow
About the Organization
Boston University Student Financial Services is part of the Enrollment & Student Administration unit (ENSA). We play a critical role in ENSA's mission by providing important services through timely and accurate review of BUMC financial aid applications, awarding of financial aid funds, processing of loans, and providing counseling to students and parents on the financial aid process, programs, and related issues.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must have a bachelor's degree and a valid driver's license. Ideally, we are seeking a candidate who has experience managing personnel, including supervising, training, and evaluating staff. You should also be able to interact effectively with students, staff, faculty, and external constituents, using sensitivity and tact in dealing with difficult situations.
We estimate the salary for this position to be around $80,000-$110,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. We offer a competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a 403(b) retirement plan.
