Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Stony Brook Medicine. As a valuable member of our clinical staff, you will provide exceptional patient care and contribute to our mission of delivering high-quality healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver clinical services to patients of all ages, including swallow evaluations, therapy, and communication assessments.
  • Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
  • Perform videofluoroscopic swallow studies and fiberoptic endoscopic evaluations of swallowing.
  • Independently assess tracheostomized patients for swallowing and speaking valve candidacy.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • NYS License in Speech Pathology and ASHA CCC-SLP Certification.
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in an acute care medical center, providing inpatient and outpatient dysphagia and communication services.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of recent experience in an acute care medical center.
  • Experience in the NICU performing feeding evaluations and treatment.
  • Proficiency in providing feeding services for high-risk infants, pediatric aversion, and behavioral feeding impairments.
