Job Summary:

Cayuga Health System is seeking a skilled Nutrition Attendant to join our team. As a Nutrition Attendant, you will be responsible for assembling and delivering patient meals, ensuring proper washing and sanitizing of dishes, and collecting and delivering nutrition supplies to hospital units. You may also work in retail food outlets, preparing and serving food to employees, guests, and visitors. Payment processing and cash handling are required in retail locations. All employees may assist with catering functions, as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble patient meals using proper portion control and being aware of allergens
  • Use dish machine for properly washing and sanitizing dishes and utensils
  • Ensure patient/family satisfaction via direct patient interaction
  • Manage nutritional supplies on units
  • Maintain a clean facility throughout service
  • Maintain departmental policies and procedures of clinical care in accordance with regulatory agencies
  • Effective Communication and demonstration of team-based management.
  • Is flexible in assuming other appropriate responsibilities, not noted above.
Requirements:
  • HS Diploma, GED or appropriate working papers (for minors)
  • 1 year of food service or nutrition experience, preferably in a healthcare facility
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2-year Nutrition or healthcare related degree preferred
Physical Requirements:
  • Standing for long periods of time, lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, pushing, pulling and reaching
  • May be exposed to areas of extreme heat or cold
  • Primary work location may include loud noises, wet and slippery conditions, exposure to sharp objects
Location and Shift Requirements:
  • Onsite at our Main Campus
  • Full Time - Days
  • Periodic travel to other campuses may be required
Compensation Disclosure:
  • $16.94 per hour Standard Rate plus benefits
  • OR
  • $19.28 per hour Enhanced Rate with no benefits
