MRI Technologist Job Description

As a key member of our MRI team, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic technical procedures under the direction of a physician.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the highest quality images are produced by performing routine quality assurance checks on equipment and procedure areas
  • Maintaining a safe environment by adhering to proper safety standards
  • Operating required equipment necessary to produce scans using established guidelines and MRI protocols
  • Communicating effectively with patients to ensure their comfort and safety throughout the procedure
  • Assisting in maintaining supply inventory and contributing to a positive and efficient work environment

Requirements:

  • Certification in Radiography, Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Therapy, Sonography, or Vascular Sonography
  • Associate's Degree preferred, but not required
  • MRI experience preferred but not required

Licensure and Certification:

  • Experienced candidate(s) must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
  • Inexperienced candidate(s) must be registered in X-Ray, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, or Radiation Therapy by one or more of the following agencies: ARRT, ARDMS, or NMTCB

Work Environment:

  • Standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive)
  • Repetitive motion: computer keyboard
