Job Summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Sonography Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing advanced diagnostic ultrasound procedures, leading departmental programs, and serving as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform advanced diagnostic ultrasound procedures in accordance with prescribed safety procedures and protocols.
  • Lead departmental programs, including protocol development, system standardization, competency validation, safety programs, accreditation, and quality/efficiency initiatives.
  • Assist in the orientation and training of junior staff, providing feedback to annual staff evaluations.
  • Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, including respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, and communication style.
Requirements
  • Completion of a CAHEA-approved formal training program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
  • 5 years of Sonographer experience.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification.
  • Advanced certification in area(s) of specialty according to facility need.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Windows-style applications and various software packages specific to the role.
