ABOUT THE POSITION:

We are looking for a dedicated Leadman to oversee and maintain organization within the warehouse. This nonexempt (hourly) role typically reports to the Warehouse Supervisor or Manager and requires adherence to Triple-S Steel's operational standards and safety protocols. Overtime may be necessary to fulfill customer demands.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative assistance to Partners and the Operations team.
  • Support the efficient functioning of the team.
  • Monitor inbound railcars for unloading.
  • Manage the daily Saw Schedule; assign orders to operators across shifts, program daily saw production needs, and handle production paperwork.
  • Assist with special projects and general office tasks as required.
  • Exercise independent judgment in daily decision-making.
  • Prepare monthly reports by gathering necessary data and distributing copies.
  • Maintain organized filing systems.
  • Oversee the workflow of specific departmental functions.
  • Initiate action items from management meetings and distribute accordingly.
  • Provide support to clients, vendors, and subcontractors as needed.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Offer backup support for other departments, including inventory control, shipping, receiving, and traffic.
  • Certified in crane and forklift operations to assist in the warehouse as necessary.
  • Capable of lifting a minimum of 50 lbs.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to accurately interpret work orders or follow oral instructions to determine assignments or material needs.
  • Capability to safely meet or exceed established productivity standards.
  • Proficient in planning and organizing work activities independently; able to work both autonomously and collaboratively.
  • Knowledgeable in product and inventory control techniques and procedures.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with other departments regarding routing, safety, and customer relations.
  • Demonstrate basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Strong customer relations skills may be required.
