Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at Highland Place Rehab & Nursing Center. As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, promoting their physical and emotional well-being, and supporting our nursing staff in delivering exceptional patient care.

Job Summary:

The Certified Nursing Assistant will be responsible for providing direct resident care, including personal care, ambulation, and vital sign monitoring. You will work closely with our nursing staff to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring that each resident receives the highest level of care and attention.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide personal care to residents, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Ambulate and transfer residents using assistive devices and proper body mechanics
  • Monitor and record resident vital signs, weights, and measurements
  • Assist with feeding and hydration, as needed
  • Participate in collecting data for the MDS and plan of care
  • Provide input to the nurses for development of the plan of care
  • Keep accurate records of food intake and output, as directed
  • Assist with aseptic and sterile techniques to prevent infection
  • Be alert for proper ventilation, temperature, light, and noise control
  • Take TPR, blood pressure, and weighing of residents, as directed
  • Promptly answer call lights and other resident needs
  • Utilize proper body mechanics when lifting or transporting residents
  • Assist in the orientation and training of other staff, as requested
  • Attend in-service education programs to meet facility educational requirements
  • Be familiar with Standard Precautions, Exposure Control Plan, Fire Drill, and Evacuation Procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident and facility records/information
  • Protect residents from neglect, mistreatment, and abuse
  • Protect the personal property of residents
  • Adhere to attendance standards per Attendance Policy
  • Maintain established housekeeping standards within assigned duty areas
Requirements:
  • Current Nursing Assistant Certification from the state
  • Maintain CPR Certification
  • High School Graduate or GED
Working Conditions:

This position is subject to frustrations in meeting work demands due to frequent interruptions. You will work in a fast-paced environment, making decisions quickly, and interacting with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies, and others under all conditions and circumstances. You may work beyond normal duty hours, on weekends, and in other positions temporarily, when necessary. You may be subject to call-back during emergency conditions, such as severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc. You may be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses. You may be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals.

Physical and Sensory Requirements:

You must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations. You must be able to function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies. You must meet general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility, which may include a medical and physical examination.
