Description:

The Billing Specialist III plays a critical role in ensuring the timely and accurate submission of medical and dental claims to Medicaid, Medicare, and other third-party payors. This position requires a strong understanding of insurance rules and regulations, as well as excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Process and submit medical and dental claims to Medicaid, Medicare, and other third-party payors.
  • Verify patient information and ensure accurate billing.
  • Communicate with patients and payors to resolve billing issues.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Stay up-to-date with changing insurance rules and regulations.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-4 years' experience in a medical billing/insurance office.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of insurance rules and regulations.
  • Strong organizational skills and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in PC software (i.e., database).
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT-4, and ICD-9/10 coding helpful.
