As a liaison between patients, hospitals, and government agencies, this position requires strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct eligibility screenings and assessments to determine patient financial requirements
- Counsel patients on insurance benefits and co-payments, ensuring they understand their options and responsibilities
- Collaborate with government agencies and healthcare providers to obtain necessary documentation and authorization
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of patient applications and follow-up with caseworkers as needed
- Document progress notes and maintain accurate records in the hospital computer system
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associate degree preferred
- Minimum of one year of related experience, preferably in healthcare
- Relevant education may substitute experience requirement
