Job Summary:


We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Northern Arizona Healthcare. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Escort patients from the waiting area to the exam room, communicating any extended wait or delay in appointment times.
  • Review patient medical records, conduct pre-visit interviews, and record chief complaints.
  • Take and record vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and pulse oximetry.
  • Communicate patient concerns or significant changes in health status to physicians or allied health professionals.
  • Administer injections under the supervision of a provider.
  • Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures as needed.
  • Process test results and provide timely results to patients via email, mail, or phone as directed.
  • Conduct designated point-of-care testing, including electrocardiograms and throat cultures.
  • Assess needs for referrals and prescription renewals.

Requirements:



  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Medical Assistant Diploma from an accredited program or certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), or National Health Care Association (NHA) required within 90 days of hire.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association required within 90 days of hire.
  • Fingerprint Clearance Card application number required upon hire, and clearance card required within 90 days of hire.
  • One year of related job experience preferred.
