El Especialista en Nutrición es un profesional de la salud que se especializa en la nutrición y la dieta humana. Los nutricionistas combinan la investigación científica, la nutrición, la ciencia del comportamiento y la ciencia social para promover la salud, prevenir enfermedades y guiar las elecciones dietéticas de personas sanas y enfermas.
Responsabilidades:
- Desarrollar, implementar y documentar planes de atención basados en evaluaciones de necesidades nutricionales en correlación con otros planes de atención médica.
- Ofrecer asesoramiento dietético individualizado para pacientes/familias según sea necesario. Crear/desarrollar materiales educativos apropiados. Traducir la investigación científica en instrucciones significativas para los clientes.
- Evaluar y documentar la efectividad de las intervenciones nutricionales y proporcionar seguimiento para la continuidad de la atención. Facilitar la comunicación efectiva entre los miembros del equipo.
- Mantener registros y documentación precisos del departamento de manera oportuna y comprensible.
- Asistir a conferencias de planificación de alta cuando se ofrezcan.
- Ejercer dentro del ámbito de práctica de la Academia de Nutrición y Dietética, las Normas de Práctica en Atención Nutricional y las Normas de Desempeño Profesional, así como las leyes de licencias del Departamento de Salud de Florida y las políticas y procedimientos de la organización.
- Cumplir con los estándares regulatorios y estar informado sobre los estándares, esfuerzos de gestión de calidad y proyectos de mejora del rendimiento.
- Proporcionar dirección significativa al personal de la oficina de dietas. Revisar menús según sea necesario para asegurar el cumplimiento de los criterios y estándares establecidos.
- Mantener flexibilidad en el horario de acuerdo con las necesidades de los pacientes y del personal del departamento.
- Ofrecer capacitaciones y educación nutricional para los miembros del equipo de atención médica. Actuar como enlace entre el Departamento de Servicios de Alimentación y Nutrición y las unidades de atención al paciente.
- Educación: Título de licenciatura (B.S.) de una universidad de cuatro años.
- Licencia / Certificación: Se requiere credencial actual de la Comisión de Registro Dietético (CDR) como Dietista Registrado, o elegible para registro y debe obtener la credencial de Dietista Registrado dentro de los seis (6) meses posteriores a la contratación. Se requiere licencia dietética actual en el estado de Florida. Completar los requisitos de educación profesional continua para mantener las credenciales. Se requiere estatus activo como Dietista Registrado (RD), Dietista Registrado en Nutrición (RDN) o Elegible para Dietista Registrado (RDE) con la Comisión de Registro Dietético (CDR).
- Experiencia: Se prefiere un mínimo de 1 año de experiencia en un entorno de atención aguda.
